Card & Keyword Update

A new update has been made to the card pool and ability system for Chromatic Battlelines. This update focuses on streamlining card abilities, improving consistency, and creating more room for future card interactions.

Removed Cards

The following cards have been removed from the game:

Enchantments

  • Kindling Forge
  • Spellwell
  • Canopy Heart
  • Shield Mandate
  • Grave Bargain

Weapons

  • Kindling Gauntlets
  • Skyreaver Saddle
  • Barkplate Pauldron
  • Sunforged Armet
  • Gravetouch Cowl

Reworked Cards

The following cards have been reworked:

Weapons

  • Emberblade
  • Runed Spyglass
  • Oakhear Maul
  • Aegis Shield
  • Glassfang Dagger

Enchantments

  • Banner of War
  • Foresight Spire
  • Overgrowth Grove
  • Sanctuary Oath
  • Death Knell

Ability Keyword Update

All card abilities have now been normalized into keywords.
The full ability text previously found on cards has been replaced with standardized keywords. The complete list and definitions of these keywords can be found on the Abilities page.
This change provides a consistent language for card abilities and should make it easier to:
  • Understand card effects at a glance
  • Identify similar mechanics across different cards
  • Create new interactions between cards
  • Design future cards using existing mechanics
  • Expand the game without repeatedly introducing similar ability text
The goal is to establish a more consistent rules language as Chromatic Battlelines continues to develop.
